R. Michael Culligan

Richard “Mike” Culligan is the Litigation Support Partner of Jump, Scutellaro and Company, LLP and has more than twenty five years of accounting and taxation experience. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New Jersey and New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New Jersey and New York State Societies of Certified Public Accountants and has served on committees at both the National and State levels.

Mr. Culligan is also Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), accredited by the AICPA and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), accredited by and a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He is a Qualified Mediator and registered with the Administrative Office of the Courts, State of New Jersey Family Division Economic Mediation Program. Also he is “trained in Collaborative Law”, enhances his skills as an assistant collaborative trainer and is an active member of the Jersey Shore Collaborative Law Group.

Mr. Culligan’s past experience in public accounting was working first for a northeastern regional firm, then in his own practice and in 1999 joined Jump, Scutellaro and Company, LLP, first as the Firm’s Tax Manager and then Litigation Support Partner.

Mr. Culligan began his career auditing banks, savings & loans and a daily newspaper, transitioning in the late eighties to taxation including high net worth individuals, estate and gift planning and tax research on a wide variety of topics. He has fused his accounting and tax knowledge into a practice of litigation support in forensic accounting and business valuation.

Mr. Culligan’s current responsibilities are to provide litigation support services that range from consulting, forensic accounting and business valuations through economic damage assessments and reports on a wide variety of business and personal matters. Also he provides services to high-net individuals that include yearly tax planning and compliance with emphasis on succession planning and Estate and Gift planning and preparation of estate and gift tax returns.

Mr. Culligan is a frequent author on various topics that include tax matters, business valuations and matrimonial issues.
